When in doubt about where to begin, I find it helpful to begin with gratitude.
The house is a disaster, the floor is sticky, the coffee I’m photographing this morning has splashed on the table and is already cold, and I’m staring down a pile of scattered legos that are 59% likely to be listed as my cause of death some day.
But in this crazy moment, I’m thankful for that one hot sip of coffee, and for the reason those legos are on the floor: I’m a mom.
Two years in, and I still can hardly believe it some days. After such a long journey to motherhood, sometimes I still think of myself as the only slightly younger me, celebrating my 40th birthday and wondering if it was just too late to see the dream of motherhood ever come true.
Motherhood is (by far) the toughest job I have ever had. And the best one too. And I really, really want to do it well. My reason for starting this blog is to create a community of support for moms who, like me, are pursuing a purpose-filled motherhood from the trenches of toddlerhood. It’s a crazy journey. Will you join me?
I’m Crystal, by the way. Nice to meet you!
